chia pudding

chia pudding
I've finally discovered the world of chia seeds.  I bought them a while ago and I don't remember why, but they never got used.  Well Ani made a trip to Long Beach the other day and she mentioned chia pudding.  So I had to ask...  how great is this, chia seeds with some water ( I used fresh almond mylk that I just made) and some sweetener.  Ani said use steevia but only had agave at home.  dude it was so good!  The chia seeds get all gelatinous in just seconds!  it was freaking awesome.  I ate all my chia seeds in 2 days and I can't wait to experiment.  maybe adding nuts and berries.  how about cinnamon or banana?

AND  this solves the mystery of my crazy messed up fruit smoothie I had a while back.  I made a normal everyday smoothie with juice, nuts, fruit, and the usual.  But one day it totally solidified into a sponge!  I was totally freaked out.  I must have added chia and not known what to expect!

Fresh sprouts from Jill

July 22, 2010
My friend Jill brought me a visitor and some home-grown sprouts to my work tonight.  Thanks for both!  I blended the sprouts with some spinach, sunflower seeds, strawberries, dates, and fresh orange juice for an awesome smoothie.

I've been adding sunflower seeds to my smoothies a lot lately.  finally decided to sprout some myself.  Then I gave them a light coating of agave and cacao powder.  They've been in the dehydrator for a full day now.  still a little sticky.  I kinda thought they would ...

Got my driver's license.

July 20, 2010

One of my New Year's Resolutions for 2010 was to keep my car and driving record completely legit.  Well it took until July 19th, but I know have my license back.  Laura brought me a hommade arrangement last night of some painted kale!  how great is that!  The weird thing is I was looking in my truck for my registration this morning so I can keep it with my insurance card and found a ticket receipt for something I NEVER EVER saw before.  In 2008 someone got a ticket in my truck for violating a...

las vegas

July 6, 2010
i need a week of sleep for every night i'm in vegas.  This last 4th of July weekend was pretty crazy messed up.  I did eat some good thai food, ethiopian food, and of course at Veggie Delight.  But one of the bar tenders at Minus 5 Degrees hooked me up with some free juice cuz I don't drink.  Had the VIP section at Tabu, but I could only hang till about 4:30am. The highlight was my dinner at the very nice Nobhill Tavern at the MGM.  Our wedding reception was at this VERY nice restaurant and I...
